FOUNDER & LEAD CLINICIAN
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and I have been working in various aspects of the mental health field for nearly 20 years, but my greatest joy has been founding Alliance Therapy Practice in 2011. Before that time, my work has covered residential, community and outpatient settings, which together has primed me for our work together. I hold a Bachelors Degree in Psychology from Hofstra University, a Masters Degree in Social Work from Adelphi University and I am licensed to practice Social Work in Connecticut and New York.
I often describe myself as a Social Worker by trade and by heart. Meaning, I'm passionate about serving my community and the mode by which I choose to do so is through psychotherapy. Taking care of yourself and living a fulfilling life is something that I want to be accessible to every person, regardless of their circumstances.
I am deeply passionate about supporting women struggling with a wide variety of issues including but not limited to depression and anxiety during pregnancy and the postpartum period, grief after miscarriage or infertility, and trauma due to childbirth. I take a holistic and Solutions Focused approach, and although there is no one modality I use in treatment, it is more often steeped in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Mindfulness Based Stressed Reduction. Meaning our work could encompass not only an exploration of your thoughts and emotions, but also your family history, relationships, lifestyle, spirituality and the development of coping strategies.

COUNSELING INTERN & ASSOCIATE CLINICIAN
I began my career in Mental Health and Wellness in 2010 when I was accepted to the Sexual Assault and Intervention program at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City. Upon completing my training and working in the field as a Sexual Assault and Intervention Advocate, I then began my graduate training in Clinical Psychology at Columbia University’s Teachers College. While at Columbia, I worked as a Bariatric Counselor at St. Luke’s hospital, providing group and individual therapy to patients preparing to undergo Bariatric surgery as well as support groups to patients in all stages of their medical weight loss journey.
It is during this time that I decided to pivot my career and education, and pursue a degree in Mental Health and Wellness at Pace University, where I'll be graduating from at the end of this year. Now, I approach my clients from a wellness perspective. Rather than putting a Band-Aid on symptoms, I help clients get to the root cause of symptoms and heal by using their innate strengths using a person-centered and eclectic approach to counseling.
I have training in CBT and DBT as well as Maternal Mental Health/ Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders. I have experience counseling groups and individuals in both English and Spanish. I have counseled clients who have Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Anxiety, Panic Disorder, Depression, Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders, as well as varied eating disorders. My end goal is to allow clients to understand themselves better, to have control over how they feel, and to feel the appropriate range of emotions for a given situation.
Life is meant to be felt and lived fully!
